How it Works, in Detail Home
What you need to bring – swimsuit, towel, money for $8 per person park entry & food/drink, dry clothes, map & directions.
Choosing the right ski package. No matter whether you ski with us on a per person charge basis (half day trips) or pay by the hour (exclusive use hourly rates) the inclusions are always the same…complete on & off water tuition as desired, ski/wakeboard gear including wetsuits, life jackets, boat & driver. You are always welcome to try whatever facet of the sport you like, whether it be waterskiing, wake boarding, wake skating, knee boarding, free boarding, bare footing, sky skiing or tube riding. Your session will start with some on land tuition including safety issues & how to correctly fit & wear the equipment.
Half day trips are better suited to singles & small groups. You get to stay for a prolonged period of time with regular breaks in between ski runs. They have a maximum of 4 participants. Each ski run takes approximately 15 minutes & we alternate amongst participants, one at a time. It is quite an intense, strenuous sport so the break in between will be welcome! On a half day trip you can have up to 3 runs. When it is not your turn to ski you are welcome to ride in the boat to watch the others or sit it out on the beach, get a coffee, chase kangaroos or feed the birds. There will also be “on land” or "in the boat" tuition throughout as required.
Exclusive Use Hourly Rates are generally more suited to larger groups (or those who would prefer to have private tuition/skiing/wake boarding). There is no limit to the number of participants but an individual’s ski time will obviously be more restricted when there are more people. As a very rough guide about 1 hour per person (eg 8 people for a full 8 hour day) usually works well, but it is largely dependant upon the fitness & enthusiasm of the group. Customers using the exclusive use option are welcome to structure their time entirely as they please, for example by having longer or shorter ski runs, more or less “on land” tuition, varying the order of ski runs amongst participants, or changing from waterskiing to wake boarding or tube riding or visa versa.
Getting Maximum Value From Your Ski Day. Due to the “one at a time” nature of tow sports, time management is very important. Our instructors will always do their best to give you maximum time on the water, but we need your help!...........
........it is essential that you arrive at our Cliftonville site at least half an hour before your scheduled start time.We will endeavor to get you ready with equipment etc as soon as possible after you arrive. In this way you could get up to 15 minutes of extra time. We definitely can not start a course again & we can not give refunds or transfer you to another course if you are late. You will miss the boat if you are late!
.......it is also very important that you are ready to ski (wearing correct gear & locating your equipment) when your turn is coming up. Lost time can not be made up later.
